The 16th card is the Major Archon of the warrior, the Greek god, Ares. Renamed Mars, I call him, "The Enforcer." The red planet represents the red sphere of Gevurah/Gebura.
On the Tree of Life, descending like a lightning flash beginning at the top sphere of Keter & flowing down to the bottom sphere of Malkuth, you find 10 points on the zig-zag line representing descendance & transcendance. The red sphere is #5 & sits in the middle of the Pillar of Severity, opposite of the blue sphere #4 Chesed on the Pillar of Mercy.
The 17th letter of the AlephBet is Pe(h). The sound of this letter is the sound you make when you pronounce the letter "P," by pursing your lips and blowing air outwards from your mouth.
The meaning of Pe(h) is mouth and House of God. It's no coincidence that this letter looks like the Hebrew letter Bet(h), which means house & '"this dwelling" has a tongue!
As a neophyte, I was afraid of The Tower. Pictured in the card are the two generative forces of male & female energies falling from Grace. The feeling of falling creates anxiety for me, so I avoid this card. It appears in readings to teach us the meaning of NO and KNOW. The Enforcer wants to balance your adeptship training with tools of extreme power. Universal Law (Septenaries) rule the Enforcer! He is fighting for rights, setting boundaries, showing you the shadow side of yourself & the world you belong to now.
We need to know how opposites exist in Unity because of each other. One defines the other. Being "poles apart" implies a duality that is connected - like the magnetic pole connecting the northern & southern hemispheres of our planet.
